HEALING PROPERTIES OF ALMOND



DESCRIPTION
 
The seed coat consisted of leathery separable structure that IS hard and juiceless. It has a dual red color with dingy green tinged. As soon as the seeds are fully ripen, its green covering will dry and then split. The endocarp (rough shell) that enclosed them dropped out.

The shell has ovoid shape, with yellow buff color flattened in form. The outer surface of the shell has small holes. It has fibrous materials that sometimes thin and friable. The seeds showed rounded at one end and pointed at the other end covered with the corresponding coat.

The size of the tree is moderate more or less 30 feet high. It has branches that spread out evenly. The leaves are lance-shaped, serrated in its edges. The plants has characteristic to flower first before the emergence of leaves.

HERBAL APPLICATION

It considered demulcent. It has beneficial nutrients mostly required for healthy body. It is good remedy for constipation softening and relaxing the solids in the stomach. Good for bronchial disease in the lungs.

The prussic acid of bitter almond found to cure intermittent fever. It serves as vermifuge. Bitter almond was used as aperient, diuretic and cure for hydrophobia.

HEALING PROPERTIES OF BLACK COHOSH


It is a wild shrub-like plant. A herbaceous perennial plant, smooth with large compound leaves. It has underground rhizomes that can reach the height of 60 centimeters. Its basal leaves are broad, coarsely toothed margin. The leaves reach up to one meter in length. It has repeated sets of three leaflets. The stem will reach height of 250 centimeters.
The flower does not have any petals (sepals). The flowers are in tight clusters with white in color. It has sweet fetid smell. The fruit contains dry follicles. One carpel has several seeds. It has black roots.
It grows best in moist place with heavy soil. The dried roots, rhizome becomes an alternative herbal medicines for many diseases. Herbal extracts serves as analgesic, anti-inflammatory and has sedative action. It found to have the ability to treat gynecological disorders of women (dysmenorrheal, memorrhagia), pre-menstrual tension, menstrual cramps. It can relieve sore throat and other respiratory infection.
 It consist property that benefits kidney and other urological disorder. It can treat psychological and mental problem like depression, anxiety and stresses of life. It relieves painful muscles, rheumatism and arthritis including nervous disorders. It is the alternative source to produce and increase production of breast milk. It should not use in lactating mothers or pregnant women. It may affect its breastfeeding or her pregnancy. Over-dosage may affect condition of stomach especially the intestines. It causes high blood pressure. It affects menstrual cycle of women beyond the normal condition. It may cause allergic reaction to those having allergy of the plant like swelling of the lips, face and tongue.
Herbal tincture can be taken in the dosage of 4ml 3 times daily for period not more than 6 months. The herbal extract can be taken 40 mg 2 times a day. Use dried roots or rhizomes 2,000 mg per day. Use herbal decoction 1 gram of powder with boiling water 3 times daily. Use herbal infusion about 30ml every 2-4 hours.

HEALING PROPERTIES OF CARDAMON



This native herbs came from ginger family called Zingiberaceae. Cardamon known as Elleturia cardamonium. It is a perennial plants. It has a tall stem or cane that grow out of rhizomes. Indians in the forest was the home of this plant. The flower spikes produce white or pale green flowers. It has a green pod capsules containing less than 20 seeds, a small black in color and sticky in form. A ripe, dark and hard seeds with brown in color is the best quality seeds.

It has a very pleasant, aromatic and sweet fragrance.

Properties: Essential oils containing a-terpineol, myrcene, limonene, menthone, b-phlellandrene, cineol, sabinene, heptane, a-terpenylacetate, sabinene, limonene and borneol.

It relieves flatulence and indigestion. A tea has a soothing tonic after a heavy meals. Good for nausea and vomiting. It has the power to lower cholesterol. If taken regularly, a good aid in reducing weight. It has a carminative properties. Has a digestive action. Found to treat colds, fever, bronchitis. It has anti-inflammatory properties for infection. Helpful for the treatment of liver complaints. The chewed seeds is good to control bad breath giving a good flavor, freshness and coolness. Considered a decongestant for cold. It de-congest stuffy nose. The pyto-chemical cineole was the reason to break chest congestion. It boosts the entire central nervous system.

They believed it has aphrodisiac properties. It is helpful to break up gallstones and kidney stones. It treats inflammation of the eyelids.
