DESCRIPTION
The base of the foot-stalks was covered
with silky hairs. Although it is odorless it has acrid taste if fresh but
limited when the herbs are dried, the more it diminishes if stored for long
time.
After the plant flowers, most of the leaves
will develop slowly. The woody root-stocks were thick. It develops rosette of
finely divided stalked leaves. Young leaves were covered by silky hairs.
The color of the foot stalks is purple. The
flower has measurement of 1-1/2 inches across formed singly on stalks with the
height of 8 inches or less. It has involucre of three sessile of bracts or
leaflets deeply cut. The sepal of the flowers has dull purple violet color. It
has silky appearance under surface of the leaves. The seed vessels are small. It has long
feathery tails and brown hairy acheness.
HERBAL APPLICATION
It has benefit of one type of diseases of
the eyes. It is nervine, diaphoretic, alterative and antispasmodic. Prepared
tincture is good to apply in the disorder of mucous membrane.
It clears respiratory and digestive
passages. It is good remedy for spasmodic cough due to asthma. It is best for
whooping cough and treatment for bronchitis. Found to be valuable in the
treatment of the affliction of the eyes. Has the ability for the treatment of
diarrhea. It is good emenagogue.
It can give relief to headache. It has good
effect for the nerve exhaustion in women. It serves as good alternative
treatment for neuralgia. Extract of the plant is applied to cutaneous diseases.
It can treat muscles of children. It can give relief to toothache, pain in the
ear.
It was administered against indigestion and
bilious attack. It was used commonly to relieve amenorrhea. It has soothing
effect for the relief of rheumatism in the knees.
